The Future of Warfare Is Electronic — Why NEOTech’s Mission Matters to Me as a CEO and a Father

By Jim Doyle, CEO of NEOTech

James Doyle, CEO Aerospace & Defense - NEOTechWhen you lead a company like NEOTech, people expect you to talk about technology, capability, and performance — and rightfully so. Our business is focused on manufacturing mission-critical electronics for some of the most advanced defense systems in the world. We work with leading prime contractors and defense OEMs to ensure their products are secure, rugged, and ready for whatever challenges they may face.

But if I’m being honest, that’s not the full reason why this work matters so much to me.

I’m also a father to two young boys. Every time I step into a meeting about cyber warfare, space-based communications, or the next generation of autonomous defense platforms, I think about their future — not just the future of our company or our customers.

The world is changing fast. And it’s not getting safer on its own.

A New Kind of Battlefield, A New Kind of Responsibility

The war in Ukraine has shown us in real time how modern conflict reaches far beyond traditional weapons. From GPS spoofing and drone swarms to cyberattacks on infrastructure, electronic warfare is no longer theoretical — it’s shaping outcomes on the ground, every day.

Meanwhile, tensions with China over Taiwan highlight just how critical space, cyber, and information domains have become. These aren’t just new fronts in future conflicts. They’re active arenas right now, and our customers—whether it’s Raytheon, Northrop, Lockheed, or countless others—are working tirelessly to stay ahead.

At NEOTech, our role is to help them succeed. We manufacture the secure, hardened, miniaturized electronics that power these systems, knowing that the resilience of our work directly impacts the security of nations and the safety of people—including my own family.

Cybersecurity: Protecting More Than Data

As a parent, it’s hard not to think about how dependent we’ve all become on digital systems—our schools, hospitals, and critical infrastructure all rely on networks that can be compromised in an instant. On the battlefield, this risk multiplies tenfold.

NEOTech builds the secure embedded systems and tamper-resistant electronics that defense teams trust to keep communications intact and missions on track. I take pride in knowing our work helps prevent the kinds of vulnerabilities that could put lives—civilian and military—at risk.

Space: Keeping Our Eyes on the Future

My sons love looking up at the night sky and imagining what’s out there. For defense leaders, space isn’t just inspiring—it’s operationally essential. Satellites provide navigation, communications, and early warning capabilities that directly impact national security.

We build the radiation-tolerant electronics and high-performance RF modules that make sure those satellites perform when failure is not an option. Because when we talk about protecting the future, we mean it—both here on Earth and beyond.

Information & Autonomy: Staying Ahead of Threats

USA Soldiers at Computer | Electronic WarfareMy kids may not fully understand what “information warfare” means yet, but they already live in a world shaped by it. Manipulated media, AI-generated disinformation, and compromised communications are powerful tools in modern conflict.

Likewise, autonomy—drones, loitering munitions, AI-enabled targeting—has shifted the pace and nature of engagement. NEOTech provides the dense, rugged electronics these systems need to function reliably under extreme conditions, so those who protect us can stay one step ahead.

Why This Work Matters — Beyond Business

When I think about the future, I’m thinking beyond the next contract or quarter. I’m thinking about the kind of world my boys will inherit. Will they live in a world where technology is used to protect freedom, uphold peace, and deter aggression? Or one where adversaries exploit vulnerabilities unchecked?

At NEOTech, we choose to be on the side of resilience, security, and readiness. That’s why we’ve aligned ourselves with the most trusted names in defense, supporting their missions with electronics they can rely on—today, tomorrow, and for decades to come.

Because in this era of digital battlespaces, electronic dominance isn’t just about winning wars—it’s about preventing them.

From My Family to Yours

Being a CEO is a responsibility I take seriously. But being a father—that’s personal. And it’s why I come to work every day determined to lead NEOTech with purpose.

We’re not just building components. We’re helping build a safer future. For our customers. For our partners. For our children.

That’s a mission worth believing in.
