How to Install firmware upgrade chip

Step 1:  Unscrew the side with the two lights in the upper left corner.

Step 2:  Remove the side but leave all wires connected.

Step 3:  Slide the cover off towards the side that was just removed.

It should slide off easily, do not force anything.

If your box has a radio, complete step 4,

if your box has either direct connect or

cellular, skip step 4 and go on to step 5.

Step 4:  If the box has a radio, it should look like the picture below.

The radio needs to be removed to access

the chip.  First, remove the two screws

and set the board off to the side.

Do not disconnect the wire.

Now you are ready for step 5.

Step 5:  Locate the chip that needs to be removed.  Then use tweezers, a small screw driver, or anything else that will fit and pry one side up, then the other and take out the chip.

Step 6:  Take the new chip and insert it into the holder, making sure that the small dot on the top of the chip is facing towards the inside

of the board as shown in picture.  Also

make sure that the flat corner of the

chip lines up with the flat corner of the

holder (Marked in the picture by the circle).

Once again, if you have a radio, go on to

step 7, if not, skip to step 8.

Step 7:  Replace the radio, making sure that the wire is pointing to the side of the box that you removed.  Make sure the screws are tight.

Step 8:  Reattach the cover by sliding it on the same way it was taken off.  Then line up the screw holes on the side and screw the two screws back into the box.  Now it is ready to work with the new software
